There are many questions to be answered when inexperienced decision makers / stakeholders are put in a position to review consider the perfect technical solution for their Intruder Alarm system installation. The three solution offerings are wireless, hard wired or hybrid systems.
K2 Fire and Security Ltd would like to help this decision process by providing the below table which highlights the pros and cons of each application from an installation and end user’s point of view. Our guidance provides other important factors which will guide you on the financial benefits to help you to make a clearer and more informed decision.
False alarms caused by Intruder alarm systems not being maintained regularly will eventually result in unplanned costs impacting your financial budgets, and usually results in disgruntled neighbours, key holders as well as a “cry wolf” response being applied by even your most trusted and nominated eyes and ears following constant false system activations.
Wireless
There are a number of wireless alarm systems available within the professional installation market today, manufacturers such as, Pyronix, Texecom and Visonic.
DIY wireless alarms are available on the market too with Yale’s Sync range being the best performing, yet as it’s a DIY system, its performance will result on the quality of application.
Hard Wired
HARD wired systems are the industries oldest application are viewed as being the most reliable, this statement can be argued to being true only if the system has been installed by a professional installer who has ensured that cables and devices have been fitted to prevent any electrical interference or environmental affecting its operation.
Many wired systems are still readily available on the market today, K2 Fire and Security Ltd install systems that are only manufactured by industry recognised brands whose longevity is built on quality products and excellent performance ratings. Such systems we use are made by Honeywell, Texecom and Scantronic (Eaton).
Hybrid
Hybrid alarms are also available, these systems provide an excellent solution where hardwired detection can be used along with wireless devices, normally ideal for upgrades where property expansion is required.
So, which system application is right for you?
